The Cravery Brings Handheld Comfort Food
To San Francisco

San Francisco, CA (January 7, 2008) - The Cravery, known for its freshly baked pot pies, has opened its first San Francisco location at 829 Mission St. The Cravery kitchen makes comfort food fast, fresh, delicious, and ready to grab and go, with recipes that include choice lean cuts of meat, market fresh vegetables, and sauces made from scratch. The pies are all natural and contain no preservatives, additives, artificial flavors, or trans-fats.

Co-founder Brian Khoddam who calls the pies "comfort food like mom used to make, if she could've cooked" because of the velvety smooth texture of the pie filling and savory flaky crust used in the portable gourmet meals, was first introduced to the savory meat pie during his travels in South Africa. Brian fell in love with the possibilities of the handheld meal reminiscent of empanadas, calzones, Chinese steamed buns, and even quiche.

"I wanted to develop an easy meal that could travel well, be eaten in the car or at your desk and capture the comforting flavors reminiscent of home cooked meals found all over the globe," explains Khoddam.

The Cravery menu embraces bold flavors such as Thai Chicken Curry, and Besto Pesto chicken with fresh basil and toasted pine nuts, along with old favorites such as the Classic Chicken Pot Pie and the Traditional Beef Pot Roast Pie. Signature soups, salads, and deserts baked fresh daily are also available.

The pies feature a signature crust which allows them to be enjoyed on the go from the new San Francisco take-out only location. Because they travel so remarkably well The Cravery's gourmet handheld pot pies are ideal for catered events of all sizes. Both catering and to-go orders can be placed online at www.thecraverysf.com.

The San Francisco location marks the latest of recent openings including restaurants in Los Altos, Tustin, and Irvine California.

Located at 829 Mission Street , The Cravery serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily from 7:30am to 7:30pm, with complete meals from $8-12.
